Myofunctional therapy for children & adults
Myo with Miss Hiral is gentle, play-based therapy for children, with tailored support for adults too. It retrains the small muscles of the mouth and face — so you can breathe through your nose, sleep soundly and grow well. In-person and virtual sessions.

Breathe through the nose
Lips gently together
Tongue on the roof
Calm, grown-up swallow
More than mouth exercises — it’s building new neural pathways.
01 — What it is
Myofunctional therapy is a programme of gentle exercises that retrains the muscles of the face, mouth and tongue. When these four goals become automatic, breathing, sleep, speech and jaw growth often quietly get better.
Sessions are playful and pressure-free for children, and clear and structured for adults.
It is not a magic cure — it is a multifactorial, multidisciplinary approach and a big part of the picture when improving tongue posture, breathing, sleep and more.
02 — How it helps
It retrains the small muscles of the mouth and face — which quietly shape how we breathe, sleep, eat, speak, grow and focus.
03 — Does any of this sound familiar?
Sleepless nights. Difficult mealtimes. Speech that doesn't seem to progress. Teeth that shift back after braces. A jaw that aches by lunchtime. These problems often feel separate, but they can share a common thread: the way the tongue, lips and jaw are working together. If you recognise the patterns below, myofunctional therapy could be the missing piece.

04 — How it works
Every session builds on the last — we’re teaching the brain a new default, until nasal breathing, correct tongue posture and a calm swallow become automatic.
A friendly first assessment — we look at breathing, tongue posture, lip seal, swallowing, sleep and any orthodontic or ENT history. No drills, no scary bits.
A programme of playful neuromuscular exercises tailored to the exact muscles and habits we need to retrain.
Structured, guided appointments for adults; structured sessions that incorporate play for children. All are available in-person or virtually, with small home-practice tasks between visits and progress tracked together.
As new neural pathways form, the new posture and breathing become automatic — the goal is lasting change, not exercises forever.
05 — Sessions & packages
All sessions are available in-person or virtually, so distance never has to be the reason to wait.
Ideal for a first assessment, a second opinion, or a check-in alongside orthodontic care.
The most common path. Eight fortnightly sessions to retrain posture, breathing and swallowing patterns.
For more complex cases, or when working in tandem with active orthodontics or ENT treatment.

06 — About
Dentist · airway-focused, pediatric-minded
I’m a dentist with a particular interest in airway-focused and pediatric dentistry. Over the years I’ve watched how much of what shows up in a child’s mouth — crowded teeth, narrow palates, mouth breathing, restless sleep — traces back to how they breathe and how their oral muscles have been working since infancy.
Myofunctional therapy is a natural extension of that work. It lets me offer something gentle, non-invasive and genuinely preventative — and because children learn best through play, that’s exactly how we do it.
My interest in this area became personal when I began noticing many of these symptoms in my own child. I started treatment, trained in myofunctional therapy, and treated my child myself — so I saw first-hand the immense improvements that can happen when the orofacial muscles and breathing patterns are retrained.
That experience is why I do this. I now want to help every child and adult reach their optimal health — because better breathing, better sleep and a healthier mouth can change a life.
07 — Book & Watch
Books, videos and tools to keep the whole family inspired between sessions.

07 — The book
A picture book that introduces myofunctional therapy through playful rhymes and friendly illustrations — why the mouth is a home for the tongue, teeth and breath, and how caring for it helps children breathe, sleep and grow. Written by Dr Hiral Varsani.
Watch & learn
Fun videos for little ones and their grown-ups — simple exercises, bedtime tips, and answers to the questions parents ask most.
08 — Get in touch
Every journey starts with the intake form. Tell us a little about your child, in-person or online, and we’ll build a plan around them from there.
